Spending money on an old car

If you own an older car or car with high mileage there may come a time when repair work costs more than the value of the car. It may be that the car has gone in for an MOT and requires £400 or more worth of repairs to get it to pass when the car is only worth this; you then have the dilemma of knowing if you should scrap it or repair it. Often this comes down to whether or not you have the funds to buy another car immediately as many people cannot do without a car. If you are spending less than £2000 on a car then the chances are it will need work doing on it in the very near future. Sometimes it is worth spending money on a car and keeping it as you then know what has been replaced and what is likely to need doing.
